Tour de Poway 08 Results
So post your results if you were in the Tour de Poway today.
I did the 26 mile course in 1hr 33 mins.
To make up the distance I rode from home in Escondido so that added an extra 16 miles for the day.
It was a great day for riding although the Course markings weren't the best but the route slip def helped.

did the metric with a buddy, 63 miles in 3hr 16min, top speed of 47mph on the 67 into Ramona.
Fun ride, great weather and lots of people out. Last yr we did the century, my friend had to be home around noon so we did the shorter route. Still fun!!

I rode the 26 miler for a apx time of 1:45 which included one pit stop.
I rode from Tierrasanta and while Kearney Villa Rd was open at the time I went up, it was not on the way back (airshow...) and the SDPD was not the least bit inclined to even consider a lone biker, so I made a 15 mile detour thus making the day a metric century.
Yeah the markers were a bit on the tough to see side and sometimes were obliterated. I think the problem area was at the winery...

No race, but you know that you like to challenge yourself against a seemingly better rider to either try to keep up or drop them. Of course if you're me, you soon get dropped by the dropped

Century only has 4000 ft? I heard some riders talking about it. I figured they were talking 10,000!
2000 riders, that's not bad!

I did repeats on the Poway grade (Scripps Poway Parkway) on Sunday morning. I can't bring myself to pay to ride many of the roads I ride each week.
Hope everyone had a good ride this weekend. Glad it did not rain as forcasted.

Were you there last Sunday? A guy on a red Carbon Soloist was doing repeats. I thought he had a BF jersey on.
