Got one I'm building now to see if it'll satiate my desire to get another Surly Cross Check. Its a lot cheaper than buying a $440 frame but has a few drawbacks but should be about as versatile.

Put the 700c wheelset on today and stripped down the frame. Stock crank came with a 36t and 47t ring so I'm set for any SS work I want to do

What year is your Caad8? I haven't seen one with canti brakes before. I have two Caad8 Optimo's, the rear stays are so thin I can't imagine canti brake posts on them.

I think its a 2010 frame (NOS), a cross frame though obviously. I have an optimo frame and i think the rear stays on the caad8 may be a bit beefier...I'll have to look when I get home.

Here's my Motobecane Fantom CX in stealth mode. I was trying to remove the decals from my bike (not that I'm embarrassed, I just like the look of a bike without decals), but they're under a clear coat. So I used electrical tape instead. I much prefer the clean lines of this. If I can find a tape with a close match to the grey finish I might try that.

Lol!
I used to do this to my Stumpjumper to avoid prying eyes of bike*thieves.

My new Nashbar Steel CX. Plan to use it more for gravel grinding and road riding. Probably gonna get a second wheelset to keep knobbies on for the trails.

I use my Ridley X Ride - mostly for road riding; and I'm thinking of putting a set of Schwalbe Marathon 700 x 28 tyres on for the winter. Anyone use these tyres?

I'd love it but my stable is too full right now, I'd have to thin in out a bit before I could take on another without repercussion.

3 roadies, 3 CXer's.(these I ride)

Not to mention the others I just keep for sentimental value.
I know you understand this 1st hand.
You have a great stable BTW.

Haha thanks, I do absolutely understand what you mean. I picked up the frame a size smaller then I wanted but it was too good of a deal to pass up.
