Ice can do a little more damage to handlebars than the cat. He does out on command.

I got to ride the bike with the new microSHIFT shifter today. The microSHIFT definitely shifts more smoothly that the grip shifter I was using.
I had some numbness in my hands, which I am attributing to adjusting to the new grips and shifting system. I may have the “wings” on the handlebars at the wrong angle. 12 speeds do require a little more rotation.
