2nd gen Campagnolo C-Record RD - Broken Upper Stop

So I have this derailleur on my Bianchi - VeloBase.com - Component: Campagnolo, C-Record (2nd Gen)

It seems like the upper stop is broken, as the piece i circled below is entirely gone and is just a flat surface. Whoever owned my bike before me just put a washer in there so the derailleur functioned, but it has never worked particularly well. Unlike the 1st gen version of this derailleur, it appears there is no replaceable part.

Is my only option replacing it with another derailleur? Thanks!

Can you post a picture of your derailleur?

On Victory derailleurs, that stop piece is removable. But it often breaks. There is possibly some machining you could do, but it may be toast.

Ah it seems I was mistaken and actually have a Victory derailleur

It's identical to this: Campagnolo Victory long cage (4th style, G010-LG? 'LX'? 'Victory LX'? 'Victory LX S3'?) derailleur

I believe this part will be a functional replacement:

We have an ISO sticky in this subforum. Maybe you can post there in your search for an inexpensive Victory or Chorus derailleur for parts.

Good luck. Those derailleurs are often sold without that part, because, in addition to be a little prone to breakage, they tend to fall out and disappear when not mounted to the bike.

You can get them from a bike shop that orders from EuroAsiaImports but their price was $52.50 each!!!. So eBay is the good deal today! I snagged mine off eBay a while back (my Athena had a cracked one and I was worried it’d catastrophically fail while riding).

I have one that cracked, which I JB Welded (just to be on the safe side) ... and another that wouldn't stay in place because the notches were botched. For that one, I used a ball bearing to keep it in place. Both Victory derailleurs work great.
