Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I had to look up *****. It’s not in itself derogatory but often used in that context. Who knew?

I wonder if there is an official list of censored filtered words. Anyone know?

I've never been to Hawaii. I don't think being apart from everywhere else would be a deal breaker. Is it big enough for Velo Vol to stretch his wings? Are the roads sufficient for serious cycling? Hard to say.

I've spent a good part of the last 24 hours installing a ceiling fan/light in the office/soon-to-be-bedroom - the job should have been a couple hours, but... old house, had a few wrinkles that I had to take care of...

Anyway, now that it's done, I can't help but think how nice it'll be to set up the trainer under the fixture and set the fan to full whirlwind.

I have a friend that moved there at least 5 years ago. She's into outrigger canoes, and just bought a Kai wa'a Ares-OC1 a couple months ago

Yes, great for serious cycling. I have been there a few times, but not on a bike. It is very beautiful and expensive and takes a long time to get to.

Added downward force is gonna wear your rear tyre out faster

(assuming wheel-on trainer)

Happens to me all the time. We have a white-bladed ceiling fan in the bedroom now, which seems to help a bit

I'm pretty sure they have office parks in Hawaii.

I haven't read that, but I seem to remember reading a lot about that question and the amazing feats of navigation by wave direction and stars which they must have done.
