Addiction 2021.1

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

This. If you can find the right sheen polish, you should not need a clear coat.

If you like eggs, I see no problem having more than one/week.

When I was touring in MT in 2019 a local drove down the main drag of Troy with one leashed in the bed of his pickup. The thing was sitting on top of the tool locker.

Decades ago there was a news story about a mountain man in PA who had befriended a bobcat. it would routinely come inside his cabin to visit.

And then there was this poor guy two years ago. Attacked by a rapid bobcat that had porcupine quills stuck in its face. It also attacked a puppy.

Pennsylvania man recovering from rabid bobcat attack | ABC27

Camped along the Allegheny River in Franklin while riding across the state in 2014. Saw a pair of bald eagles squabbling close overhead while I was enjoying my morning coffee.

We plan on heading north before this summer hits whether this job happens or not, so I gotta get the van ready for that. I drove a new Jetta rental car up there for the test.

Rental cars are fun, when at home you drive a beater. I could never understand all the new gadgetry. One time I couldn't get the window down when exiting the lot. Good luck!

Between bobcats and lynx, I always forget which is predisposed to be ornery... until I get that squared away, I guess that I shouldn't try to pet either if I come across one.

My wife ordered some fancy bar soap from France - comes in a big block that you need to cut up. She said that it was supposed to be unscented - it's anything but. The smell was immediately familiar, but I couldn't quite place it... and then it hit me. I went downstairs to the shop area to grab something and brought it back up for my wife to smell. "Yeah," she said, nodding, "that's it."

The shop item was a tube of Phil's Waterproof Grease.

Both.

I wouldn't want to put either in a box.

There are a lot of bobcats on our local MUP, and they are frequently seen in the mornings and early evenings. They don't seem to bother anyone though. I once came head to head with one on a 6 or 8' wide bridge while riding. I just moved to the side and glided by. Other than look at me with a side eye, it didn't do a thing. Wouldn't try to pet it though.

Anyone know printer technology?? Our printer won’t print black despite cleaning our printer head with alcohol and putting in new ink cartridge. Colors print ok. Printer is HP-6520 about 3-4 years old I think not worth trying to fix but mrs datlas thinks we should take it somewhere for repair. Thoughts/advice??

This picture better shows the topography. He left the roadway and flipped. He did not go down the cliff according to what I saw.
