Fake 3T Stem
I was browsing around ebay looking for a replacement for a 3T stem that was slightly too large for me and came across some 3T carbon stems where the price looked "too good to be true." I immediately asked the seller if they were authentic and they said they were not but promised me good quality. Anyone have any experience with stems like this? I don't own anything that isn't authentic but I wonder about these.

No experience, but I'd rather have a real 3T Arx in alloy for the same price (+ a few grams) before trusting a fake one in CF.

OP, if it's too good to be true, well whadayathink? Just discovered ebay or what? Starting threads about ebay fakes is an exercise in futility and a full time job.

And you'd want to do business with someone who is intentionally misrepresenting his product in his ebay listing because...?

How about clicking "Report Item" and let Ebay know about counterfeit products on their site ?
You could also forward the link to 3T

I bought one from a different seller. Wouldn't fit on my 1 1/8" steerer tube. Measured it with calipers, seems to have an opening that is 1 1/16". Asked for a refund, seller obliged, shipped it back to china about a month ago, haven't heard from the seller again. Opened a case, still no reply.
steer clear.

Anyone can buy lots of 3T copies from Alibaba and resell on eBay. If you buy 10 Ltd bars they're around $108 apiece. The real one's go for $3-400. One way to spot a fake is by the weight. 3T's claimed weights are accurate. My Egosum Ltds are 182gms. The fakes are 200+.

Please report the item, link is just below and right of the eBay Buyer Protection banner.
OT has eBay changed their logo? Interesting.

Agree, however this is nothing new.
I remember few years back, it was so easy to pick/search for a single item, now in hopes you spend more time sifting thru tons of s&*&% (and hopefully snag more things in the way out) their current search engine is an exercise of futility and frustration.
It's the same marketing philosophy applied to brick and mortar stores. Why would you have sick people go all the way back (major chain stores) to the pharmacy for refills while *healthier* smokers/winos have their stuff right next to front counters?

They're the worst when it comes to selling. Occasional sellers (like myself) are getting killed on all sides - listing fees, final value fees, paypal fees, palpay bs policies, etc, etc. They're a last resort for selling, now.
