Change Cycling Now summit kicks off...

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/cycling/20542662

Is it just me, or could this organization also be called the Pitchfork Brigade for Anybody Lance Offended summit?

Seriously. Lance goes down for things he did nearly a decade ago. Cycling is already the most heavily policed sport on the planet for PEDs. What benefit is there in this folly?

The effectiveness of which is highly debatable.

Bolding mine.

Source? Or is this just like Armstrongs claims about being the most tested athlete in the world?

Armstrong has no-one to blame but himself. Publishing pictures of himself reclining in front of an array of TdF yellow jerseys was a provocative attempt to moon those responsible for trying to clean up the sport. He gets whatever he deserves...

But that is history. This group is there to identify ways to clean up the sport. As far as they are likely concerned, the Armstrong fraud is a dead issue. Good luck to them. The only way I can see for effective change is to start where the fish rots first -- the head (of the UCI).

I like This version of the photo better than the one of which you speak.

Well, how about adding some integrity to the whole regulation of cycling. I don't think anyone can seriously contend that UCI is doing very well, particularly in the area of drug testing, or that the UCI has any credibility.

There's obviously room for improvement.

Catharsis - its important - the cycling sport needs to go thru it
a lot of people make their living off it - some of them need to find a good compass and get back on course, accept their mis-direction
not everyone who doped was/is a dirtbag; many have found their way back and I'm not calluse enough to deny offenders an opportunity to get back on track
at the same time, offenders who continue the same offenses only drag the sport down further - they need purging
not everything being done or being prosposed is gonna work, so we need to do a lot of different things - this might help
it's about respect and self-respect in everything you do
The UCI House needs to be cleaned
the compass for the young needs to be certain - its the least they deserve

Look at it this way---but for this thread, we would have never known that "cycling is already the most policed sport on the planet for PEDs".
