Tires...

48cm Juniper Ridges, I had to supply my own Kool-aid though. Makes it feel like a new bike!

I'm sure it will become a favorite.
The Merckx has a drivetrain with VO crank (which i love) that will be emulated on the Holdsworth.
48/34 drilled, but given the black frame the 'new' NR rd may require black or gold fill-in and the chain is to become gold colored. Here is the Merckx

No chromed stays on the Holdsworth, so the gold chain may work.

A few bits and bobs - From VO during their 20% off Garage Sale deal, new levers for the International, brake pads and a leather top tube wrap. Rene Herse also ran a 'clearance sale' and I managed to get one Bon Jon Pass lightweight for $49. Would have liked a pair but at least I have one on hand should one of mine need to be replaced.

I have those on my '70 Pro. Very happy with them. They shift beautifully and look right at home on a vintage frame.

A box full of goodies found my mailbox today, despite USPS telling me that it was "Delivered, To Agent" yesterday.

Unpacked and shown with the Chorus brake calipers that arrived Friday, you can see that I've got another retro roadie build in the works.

I love this rear derailleur -- look at the length of that cage. Just the ticket for my lack of climbing abilities.

Wow!

How about a side view. Please?

Such a cool bike made even more versatile.

Wish I had that much tire clearnce for my Bilenky tourer....

I use a similar set up on my Bilenky tourer.

Works like a champ, especially when the bike is loaded.

Really comes in handy.

Here you go, from today’s river ramble. It turns out, one bike w/fenders is enough for Sacramento. I’m impressed, still lots of clearance in the back with such a large tire.

Thanks!!!

Wow.
I want one even more now.
Wish I could fit a little more tire on my Stigmata or Monstercross or even my Bilenky for that matter.

The Stigmata can fit up to 650 x 53.

Maybe I should just break down and build up a set of 650bs with a Son or SP.

Hmmm.

Got a Sturmey Archer XL-FDD drum brake/dynohub, some small parts for a wheel build and the wrong tyres today.
Next up, the rim and measuring everything so I can build a wheel!

Yes! Our post office in NYC (10014) had huge delays. They're up and running again, but there is talk of suspending service!

Yeah. It's from 2009/2010, so I think it will work with anything from 2001 to 2014. I'm using this model on another bike with 10-speed second generation ergos. For my new project I'm going to try it with early 11-speed. In theory that will work.

I have one floating around the country to various localities. Stuck in customs in NY as well. Glad they are not worried about my bike parts and placing shipping priorities elsewhere. I can wait.

that was my take as well. Bike parts are nice but i want folks taken care of first. The parts floating around is a little window into the touble they must be having.

A NOS Simplex shifter. A replacement tab key will have to wait for the COVID lockdown to end, but ebay waits for nobody!

These arrived about a week ago. I hope they live up to the hype. I bought some fancy Challenge tires years ago and never felt very impressed with them. I was going to wait to install them until I finished my bike... but I was too excited to wait. I hope I get a chance for a ride this weekend!
