I know the guy. His name is actually Craig. A lot of his ads are duplicates/re-posts. Nice fella, always has stuff at the swap.

Wait for daylight or use a flash? No way, let's get edgy. Or something... Every photo taken with illumination from a flashlight from the looks of it.

Says: "The frame does have a couple of dents on the tubes near the front stem. You can see them closely in photo 5 but they do not affect the rideability of the bike."

Should it be a crime to sell for $800?

Poor bike. Crashed, and then your corpse is used to swindle some unsuspecting schmuck.

If someone really thinks that that's not going to be a problem, then--sorry to say this--but it may be more of a Darwin award type situation.

And, I do get annoyed when someone edits their ad to say "SOLD" instead of just deleting the thing like most people do. But not as much as this guy . . ..

Homemade E-bike - $100 (Leicester)

Started out with a 24 inch Huffy frame , put a 26 inch 1000w front hub motor on.Paid over $300 for a 48v 1000w 20ah lithium battery, Huge truck mirror let's me see 3 curves back. Front and rear shocks, rechargable lights,. 30+ mph. Have disc brake but never put on. Rubber inserts on front and back of inner tubes, Dependable. Either finish what I started or put on your bike. Have over $500 in this. Give me $100. Moving out of state Friday

Wow. No brakes. And how was he planning on installing that disc brake on a non-disc fork? Maybe he knew that cheezy fork was going to explode from the torque of that motor and as soon as he got out of the hospital he would install the brake on the new fork.

This was wacky in a good way. I brought him a 12-pack of Fat Tire ale, we drank a few on his porch - talked about bikes, covid, and life. I left with two pairs of almost new Compass/Herse tires. One of the most satisfying Craigslist transactions yet.

^^^^^ How much you wanna bet it was built mid-July 1984? The 195th day to be exact.

But another example of a bike that's probably as old as, or older than, the seller, so, well, it must be really old, right?

Those handlebars are making my head hurt. It's like non-cycling person tried to draw drop bars and those bars came to life. At first I thought they had been bent that way but the bend must be factory. The lever position too?? I have so many questions.

My first thought is that they're track bars on an adjustable stem that's all the way up. But they're so square.

Got it. That's a gooseneck stem, as for cruisers. I'll bet those are a city style handlebars, meant to be swept up and back. Like an extreme Nitto Promenade.

Lots of parts, better hurry while there are still some left.

Some very rare parts in there somewhere...at least I think so...Be sure that you have had a tetanus shot before diving in.

Ben,
That is about $0.20 in steel mixed scrap. I hope it goes there instead of into a trash can, but what do I know? Smiles, MH

^^^^^^ Gotta be hand-made. Those are original chain stays going from the BB shell back to the joint where the seat tube is, then another set of stays attached aft of them. That's one way get a recumbent with full-size wheels.

I'm slightly (very slightly) curious about the bricknose Ford pickup cut off in the background.
