First commuting bike
Looking to buy my first real commuting bike. I have narrowed it down to these two bikes and am wondering if these are a good option and if so what one is the better bike.
Opus Vivace $600
-Shimano Ultegra parts
-Aluminum frame

Or
Devinci Chicane $500
Recently upgraded wheels (Mavic CXP) and tires (Gatorskin 700x23). New rear cassette (12-13-15-18-21-24-28-32) combined with the 52-42-30 chainrings up front

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Just a couple of old road bikes, right?
They are two sizes apart. One is a small and the other is a large.
This being the commuter forum we are obliged by our loyalty oaths to point out these are both road racing/training bikes and not commuter bikes, they are going to have a harder time with luggage and fenders and they fit narrow tires.

Thank you for your reply. I have reposted in the road bike section. I am also not looking to put any bags on it just using it to commute to work and back.

You may want to put fenders on your bike, and a lot of racier road bikes won't have enough room between the wheels and fork/brakes/seatstays to accommodate fenders.
