Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

And it's not bad. If I can drag the whole family out for Mexican, it's usually to PA.

There are a number of segments on the hill, so I don't know which was officially used, but it boils down to ~.5 miles at ~7% for around 160-170 feet of elevation per. Edit - this is, more or less, the segment in question - https://www.strava.com/segments/643393
That's cwazy.

Watching an olde Antiques Road Show, looking for my 25mm rim tape. The bicycle on this episode has gained value since 2006. #steelisreal

Oh?

I haven't bought a new pair in probably 6 years after wearing them almost exclusively for like 4. Direct correlation with how they eventually got too uncomfortable to wear if almost any walking was to occur.

I do have a sweet pair of green ones I used to fly in all the time that should see the light of day sometime

Also, hi tops or low?

I must have convinced YouTube that I'm a serious cyclist because it keeps recommending cycling content.

I sometimes watch old tv shows on that channel (dailymotion) and they are usually flipped. I think it's done to prevent recognition by automatic copyright detection software.

I did cut one of my lawns.
I had a taco salad for dinner. The rest was pretty much SSDD.

Yeah, they're impossible for me to walk or stand much in also. Great for desk jockeying or goofing around on casual bike rides, however.

These are low tops in light redwood. I also have some hightops in orange, hightops in tiffany blue, and midtops in burgundy.

I have a good number of small world stories, several of which involve bike touring. Added another one last night....

I am a member of a touring page on Facebook. Guy posts a photo of him and his wife that includes a short story about them meeting 25 years ago when he had been a LBS manager in AZ. The two got married and ended up touring around the world. Looked at the photo, remembered the AZ LBS angle and realized I had meet them at the end of my 2000 Andalucia tour. We had camped at a campground just outside of Sevilla. Another interesting angle is that all three of us had racks and bags made by Robert Beckman. Not exactly common. Beckman used to be with the legendary Bruce Gordon, but they had some sort of falling out in the 90s and went their separate ways.
