Someone has an Bridgestone XO-1 for sale

I can't believe this one doesn't have more views...

A seller posted on eBay has a near NOS 48cm Bridgestone XO-1 for sale.

Right now, it's going for $1,200, which is pretty inexpensive for a cult bike. It's a 1994 Construction Pumpkin XO-1 with only new tires and cork tape. She even has the original BOB coin holder. Rediculous! Grant Petersen, don't you read Bike Forums?

Local pick up makes things more difficult.

Edit: Nevermind, saw the questions section where they offer to take it to a bike shop to pack / ship.

It has a long top tube, but 48cm is still pretty dang short. Bicycling is a male (tall) dominated sport, vintage cycling only more so, and Peterson devouts further still. It'll stay up there at that price for a while I bet. Maybe $1400?

Yeah. Serious vintage bike nerds willing to pay so much for an old sleeper tend to to be taller than 5' 2". Just because most of us weirdos are guys. Still, some diminutive connoisseur out there is going to score a nice bike

https://orangecounty.craigslist.org/...157742115.html

it's my size, but not interested in spending that much for one.

What’s the story with bridge stone bikes/frames? I don’t know much about their pedigree

Geez, it's Bridgestone Saturday, a MB-0 this time for $350
https://losangeles.craigslist.org/sf...157817607.html

That would be tempting if it was my size.

I think the Late Sheldon Brown had a tremendous history on all Bridgestone including catalog scans. The Grant Petersen cult is real. Some old BOB members went over to Rivendell right after Bridgestone North America folded in 1994. But you’re right, the 1993 model changed over from the 1992 model. Specifically, caliper brakes to cantilevers. But I think the reason why the XO-1 is still a desirable bike has a lot to do with Grant’s vision of what an all-rounder/rando/off road touring bike should be. Doesn’t mean it’s perfect, but it inspired many bicycles and frame builders around the world. So, that’s saying something.

I own a 93 XO-1 frame and fork, which I’m selling, actually. Personally, I think they’re made to be enjoyed instead of collecting dust.

That's a lot of money for that bike and I'm a bridgestone fan. I own and ride a '93 RB 1, a '93 XO-2, and a '93 MB 1.

Oh my god I was so wrong, $2500 ending price? I just don't get it. I know they're a bit rare, but still.

Does having a XO-2 bug you when you have a RB-1 and MB-1

Can I ask when and where that frame and fork will be listed?

I don't know. Personally, I think eBay will be the first place. But for me, I would rather have you guys on the forum here look at the frameset first.

I should mention- that’s a Twin Peaks reference, not a demeaning comment about the purchaser of that bike

NOS 1993 Bridgestone XO-1 / 55cm

I just bought a NOS 1993 Bridgestone XO-1, and it came with a wonderful story too. It sat, unassembled in a mom-n-pop bike shop for all these years - it's never been ridden. Shame too, because these bikes are so much fun.
I plan to put as many miles as I possibly can.
