I turned 50 on the 14th...
I have either been pedaling on the trainer or going for short rides as of late.
Can't wait to have a saddle sore (ingrown hairs) removed so I can ride again longer distances.

Also, dagray ... I am Deeply offended by the accuracy of the description in your sig. When did you see me riding?
Yeah, saddle sores are very Not Fun. Glad there might be a semi-quick solution for yours.
Ride on, new Old Clyde ..... you have many years and many pounds to gain before you meet the standard I have set.

Paperwork filled out, Waiver signed... as to the check I ran out of those back in 1988 when I signed that big check that was paid to the amount of "up to and including my life" for Uncle Sam's Canoe Club (aka US Navy).
Maelochs, The description is of me. I went on insulin (Lantus which is a 24 hour insulin) back in December 2012 and gained from my 340 pounds to 406 pounds in less than six months. Riding, medication changes, diet changes helped me get back to 349, but I have regained back to 365. The city planner here said it looked like I was levitating through town when I was riding one day

Yeah, join the crowd. Don't be thinned skinned, after all if we had the same opinion on everything, then whats the point of a forum? And don't let facts get in the way, that can ruin a good conversation.

Don't have to have one for another five years... did the endoscopy too...... Oh the prep is soo fun.
After being a sailor for 16 years (four active duty, 12 USNR), and working as an Army civilian for 20 years I have very thick skin, and a good sense of humor.

yeah .... fat old guys are allowed to enjoy cycling. We won't ever score a KOM, but won't care, either. I just love being out there and riding. Elephants as well as cheetahs are part of the ecosystem.
You are particularly lucky. I know nothing about cycling with diabetes, so i cannot give you bad diet and exercise advice .... except to keep riding.

Been a member for two years So I’m still a baby in this category. My younger days I could just ride off the beer gut not so much now Damn recovery is harder and some days I just don’t give a *#*#*#*#*# ... The other day I’m grinding out some miles I’m like and I’m doing this? That tells me a need to take a few days off then return stronger.

My father told me that he really felt old for the first time when my younger brother hit 50.

So you've been 50 for ten days or so now. Do you feel any older? How about smarter?

Now if I can get this abscess/edema/ ingrown hair/ saddle sore taken care of I will be doing much better... so far I have been removing solid material and getting it to drain myself since the doc doesn't want to remove it due to that procedure being prohibited right now (considered elective surgery).
Did finally get the goat head out of the bottom of my foot after over a week (part of it broke off in my foot) so I can walk and pedal.
