Finally pieced together an ‘83 Trek 720
This took me a while to piece this 1983 720 together.. it started as frame set I picked up from member Steve Whitlatch.
I had an ‘82 non-canti brake 728 but wanted a cantilever brake 720. Just liked how the 1983 720’s look, maybe it was only the pewter color.
This paint is all scratched up, the next step is to save up for a new paint job. Till then I’ll just toss some inexpensive bar tape and ride it.

You're going for a stock-ish build?

Yeah I used some of the Trek 728 parts including the 700c wheel set. It’s pretty much what the 1983 720’s came with.

(I was going to say "upgrade" but that bike is all top of the line stuff... stuff got better later, but everything on there is prime, grade A for 1982/3.)

Your build looks top notch: good cable length, top class parts; great job! I love the Pewter Treks too. My daily rider is a 613 a few years younger than yours. That's some tire clearance. Enjoy it.
