Need help in finding model year of Nishiki Colorado

I bought this old Nishiki Colorado frame(Paint and decals stripped). The serial number(As best as I can see) is W89093198. This was on the underside of the down tube next to the bottom bracket. Can someone please help me id the manufacturing date?

The subject frame was built by an unidentified Taiawanese manufacturing during September 1989. That's in the grey region where it could be either a 1989 or 1990 model.
