Ford had it right over 100 years ago. No need to make wild changes now. Love black bikes!
Color is a very personal choice. If you like it who gives a hoot what anyone else thinks. Its your bike and like what you ride, that all that matters.

It's important if there's choices for the same model. But if not...I wouldn't pass up a bike that I really wanted because of the color. Maybe I would if it was really really awful. But it would have to be pretty bad for me to not get a bike because of color alone.

Bikes: too many bikes from 1967 10s (5x2)Frejus to a Sumitomo Ti/Chorus aluminum 10s (10x2), plus one non-susp mtn bike I use as my commuter

I split about color. It's never important enough to be a factor when I consider a bike, but it can be a deal breaker.

I got to pick custom colors when I had the bike built.
Painted it red/white/green like the Italian flag.
Great conversation starter on rides.

I've got an Evo in this colorway
I don't worry about matching it with kit, and just use black to accessorize.

I've owned two red bikes, one white, one black/orange and years ago I had a "black chrome" Schwinn mountain bike as well as a regular chrome MTB. Of them all, I've truly loved two, possibly three.
1. The red Peugeot roadie I bought when I started riding way back in junior high. God I loved that bike.
2. The red Trek MTB my first wife bought me after we got married. It served me well many years.
3. My current road bike, a white Trek 1.2 ... really, nothing spectacular in terms of frame/specs, but I love the way this bike feels. I love the way it looks. It makes me want to ride, and that's what's most important to me.
All of that said ... if/when I hit my weight loss goal, I would love nothing more than a new Bianchi road bike in Celeste. I've coveted a Celeste bike for years. My fear is I'll find a Bianchi I love, but it won't come in Celeste.

Color is not an issue at all. After 100,000+ miles on my bikes, I've found that after 2 minutes on the bike, I don't even remember what color of bike I am riding. I have several bikes and at times, I am not sure which one I am riding if I don't look down!

Personally I want to look like a construction zone as much as I can. I like being seen by drivers of cars, trucks, and buses. My last bike was black with orange accents; this year I reversed it:

Sometimes bare carbon fiber can be nice.
But, I'm not a fan of flat black or flat dark grey.
Not too much into pinks or purples, but I'll take just about any other color.

Why not? Because it's pink?
Last year I commissioned a custom ti frame. Color on a bike is important to me, and I don't like the look of too much bare ti. I decided to go with a Cerakote ceramic finish instead of paint. The issue with Cerakote is that the colored coatings are a matte finish, which I am not fond of. However, if you custom mix a color with their gloss white you get a pearl finish which looks great. I had the guy who would be doing the application create some test tubes of both pink and green. Pink was my first choice, but it came out looking too much like bubble gum, so I went with the green mix, which we are calling sea foam green. I think it looks great.
