Is there any way to make it so that any time I open a thread it automatically goes to my first unread post? I know there is a option to do that manually but I dislike clicking that every time I open a topic.

That certainly would be handy as a default choice (or a button on the menu, pages 1, 2, Last, Unread)

If it is a thread you've subscribed to, then that option comes in your E-Mail link.

Does the system only track "unread" for subscribed threads?

Depends on how you open the thread. There's a little icon in the forum directory that automatically leads there. But there is no setting that makes it go there no matter how you open a thread.

Thanks. I looked everywhere I could to see if I could make it a default, but I'll just click on the view first unread option.
