Hey y'all (it's a law... we have to say that).
I live in Atlanta (although I am from Michigan), and have bee riding for... 45 years (±). I was a road bike guy in the 1980's. In Korea I was introduced to Mountain bikes and rode all over the area near my base. Commuted to work in Oakland, CA, and spent a lot of time Mt Biking out there just for fun (Oakland Hills, Marin Headlands, ect...). Now I'm in Atlanta and commuting to work when the weather is acceptable (temps above 45º, no rain in the a.m.).
My bike is a domesticated Iron Horse Maverick mountain bike.
I swapped the suspension fork for a rigid unit, added a rack and paniers, added front and rear fenders, put slick(ish) tires on it to round out the package. Nothing special or amazing, just my bike.

welcome aboard, maybe here is a ride for you Army Ranger chaity ride
It's about 1 hr north of ATL in Dahlonega, which has also great Mtb trails in the forest.
I haven't decided if I should ride with my vintage Peugeot or slap some street tires on my gravel bike.
The day before they have lots of activity at Camp Wahsega.

Thank-you, @cb400bill
Midland then Grand Rapids, with a stop in Grayling for College.
@Maytag - I will give it thought. I shared a chow-hall with the Rangers in Savannah (Hunter Army Airfield). Just don't know if I am up to it yet. Just got back on the bile after a prolonged absence due to a bout with chronic laziness. I feel much better already.

Ha, I'm over 50 , that's why I signed up to test if man or machine are up for it. Sometimes I ride with a couple locals under the guidance of the Dahlonega bike shop to get my stamina up. I was off the bike for over 20 years, but realized I missed a lot of fun.
