1984 Trek 720 Touring
Hi there, I have a 1984 Trek 720 that I'm putting up for sale. Originally bought it for my daughter, and she doesn't like it, or appreciate it for that matter (prefers a lighter bike with brifters). Oh well. It's a 48 cm frame. Only thing swapped out was the tem and brake levers. Everything else is original. Minus tires and bar tape because it's a 34-year old bike. It's in amazing condition. Asking $900 plus shipping.
--The 720 uses the 531 steel alloy tubing (double-butted) for the frame, silver-brazed. Original parts are high end components: the Huret Eco Duopar derailleur (titanium), Simplex front derailleur, Cinelli drop bars, Mallard 700 Helicomatic rear wheel hub, Sun Tour power-ratchet bar-con shift levers, Blackburn rack (w/ front low rider mounts), Brooks Team Pro leather saddle, roller bearing headset, Shimano N600 Touring triple crank, Shimano XT cantilever brake calipers, SR p-11 pedals. Built in Wisconsin

720 was Trek's top touring frameset/bike. OP's bike appears to be a 1984 model.

Nice bike. I like the color. Just too small.

That 720 is really nice! Elegant crank and front derailleur and hubs that probably still spin like butter. I love the '80's 531 Treks... hand-made in the USA in Waterloo, WI.

Beautiful bike! I've been on the look out for an 1982 720/728 for my wife (21" Frame); when they do come up rarely are they as in nice shape as this.
