Powder coating and masking lugs

I came across an old Windsor professional. It is orange, and the paint is no good. I want to repaint it, but I do not have 600 for a respray, so I was thinking about a powder coat. However, I am worried about the lugs. Has anyone successfully masked off the lugs for powder coating?

Seek out a professional who knows how to do it right , the masking has to go thru the blasting surface prep
for clean untouched metal..
and then Its a rubbery tape, so the blasting media bounces off..

The powder coater will do it. They do that kind of stuff every day.

You want a guy who does custom auto, motorcycles and firearms. You do not want a job lot shop where your part will be mixed in with 300 washing machine lids or fifty lawn chairs.

A good coater can mask anything you want. Two tones, fades, metallic, crinkle, glow in the dark, lettering, clear coat, marble... doesn't matter.

Seek out a professional who knows how to do it right.
And find one that does a lot of lugged steel bikes. If they're good, there may be no need to mask the lugs ... unless they're chromed, and you want to keep it that way.

Or do it yourself. Check out spray.bike.
