No post but picked up a decent Raleigh Team USA for $40.

Parts stripped already and wiped down.

Some Zefal cloth bar tape. I'm less than thrilled. It's thin and not very adhesive. As much cushion as cello wrap. and the color of the bars is visible under the tape. Ah well, sometimes cheap is.... cheap. Looks like someone grabbed a roll of tape out of the ER and threw it on.

PS I did the taping "backwards" to reflect how I did it bitd.

Though back then I would never have considered using white. There was black, and then there was black. The year before I got my Ron Cooper, I had red bar tape, on a silver Torpado, my first racing bike. But that was on Cape Cod, where the "dirt" is sand... and by midsummer that didn't look so hot. In Vermont, dirt is dirt. After the Cooper got damaged, an orange Masi GC, bought from a friend also wore black.

I'm trying to branch out. White should be managable, now that I'll only put one week's training miles on this bike a year...

This is cotton twill tape from the local sewing shop with 3 coats of shellac. Not cushion but that is the way I like it, plus it is under $15.

This came in the mail today. Tub tape enough for 2 wheels from UK. $10 CDN all in. Bought with a free $10 Amazon card.

Mail today is really mail, not picked up during the past six months, while I was away for my winter escape.

One NOS Legnano Cottered crank set, One Universal long reach rear caliper for my Rabeneick 120d, One set of levers for the Rab120, One set of Campy/Legnano high flange hubs laced to 700c Weinmann concave rims(built these wheels this morning)...

And, though not in the mail, one all chrome Torpado and one Atala Northstar waiting for my return...

Beautiful Legnano crankset there!
I love the way steel cottered cranksets look, but I don't like working on them.
Scored a Nervar Sport square taper set with French BB, and installed it on my Pug.

Best of luck with your build (not that you need it - your bikes all look great!).

German bike tools shipped from Belfast (Slane Cycles) to Evanston. That's the sort of international cooperation I can get behind.

Got some parts for the Gazelle Lausanne today. Seatpost is a bit longer than expected
Cleaned and polished the chainguard but I'll probably have to make a trip to the hardware store as the downtube is oversized Reylonds 531 which these clamps weren't designed for.
