Oh, I knew from your Strava ride maps that, though you were in the region, you weren't concerningly close to the incidents.
Still some ****ed up stuff to pull, though. Besides, running someone on a crabon bike off the road is likely to make it assplode, and then what good is it?

Saw this during the family visit to the arboretum yesterday. What, were you expecting pictures of flowers?

love this time of year, when the flowers and muscle cars come out! Yesterday, I saw a first generation Firebird in that hideous metalflake green that was so popular then. It was beautiful. Made me happier to see that than the McLaren or the two Ferraris!

By the time we get our new (old) rescue dog all fixed up (she has had one surgery, needs another), she'll have cost about as much as a mid-level new bike. But I wouldn't trade her for anything.

That's what we call 'em here at Casa de JRT: "Jack Russell Terrorists." And you're right: they are cute little dogs, often featured in TV shows and movies, and so people bring 'em home - and then can't handle them -- and so they end up in rescue operations. But if you know what you're getting into, and are willing to make the commitment, man, they are fantastic. I've got one on my lap as I type this, and another lying on the couch.

He had to go before a judge who happened to be a drag racing fan and was more interested in how the car was set-up. Got a little slap on the wrist from that judge.

Second Pfizer for me. We remembered the paper and then they took it and didn't return it. I guess there's no need to prove we got those shots, according to Mexico anyway. And oddly, five hours have passed and I've had no reaction yet.

Things just got amazingly, career-endingly, ****ed up at work. Very complicated story, but suffice it to say the lawyers changed a policy in the dead of night a month ago and without telling a soul, and now it is impossible for any of our PhD postdocs, grad students, or post-baccalaureate fellows, who are not federal employees, to be in a room, or even on the phone, with a patient or healthy volunteer without a supervisory federal employee–in my case me—present. I have two postdocs with ongoing projects, horribly delayed by COVID, three post-bacs, and new people coming in a couple of months. I now have to find a way for them to salvage their careers. This place keeps trying to make its own work illegal and it may have scored big this time.

Never bell train a Jack Russel Terrorist, you just become their door man.

My ride plans on Sunday got cancelled in order to welcome this lovely girl to our family. A friend of my daughter needed to "re-home" her, and we jumped on the opportunity. She's energetic, curious, and needs a lot of work to learn the ways of our house - totally expected. My 10yo beagle-mix is adapting well, and will get past his "grumpy old man" phase soon enough. The feline population is not a fan of this development.

Stop alking about Camaros, you wanna make me cry?
I managed to fix a very large problem with the firebird this past weekend with the rear suspension. Turns out brand new Monro shocks don't last long. Pas. Side was blown out internally.. I put new springs and new shocks on her Saturday, rides like a dream now.. I still need to trim .5 a coil off to lower it just a slosh, it's a tad to high.
. Been thinking about going to a 3000 rpm stall like my Camaro had. Even my tuner thought this converter was way to tight. It was supposed to be 2500 stall but acts more like 2200.
