First ride of the season
The temperature warmed up I finally took my first 20 mile ride outdoors in months. I’ve been riding zwift all winter so it felt amazing to be outside. Only issue is my sit area is super sore today. Ouch.

I think the longest stretch I had this winter without a ride was 12 days. 
And that was mostly from just being super-busy doing stuff.
I love having a velomobile.

Bravo for getting that “first ride of the season” under your belt 
. While there are many cyclists that are motivated enough to ride year ‘round, regardless of weather conditions, I’m clearly NOT one them! Conditions suitable (to me) for casual riding arrived a bit earlier than usual this year in West Central Wisconsin and my first ride of the season was in early March and I’ve been out several times since then. True Spring has yet to set in though and the decision to go for a ride isn’t finalized until about Noon on a any given day! As for many, my bottom as yet to “toughen up” though it always does as the frequency and duration of my rides increase.

Glad your outside, but I think that people like yourself shouldn't limit riding to only when it's nice. Cycling in windy conditions, rain and the cold present their own types of challenges and at times can be just as nice to ride in with the right gear, as long as the road is safe for the tires you have fitted. It makes the summer and dry weather all the more enjoyable.

It's been a somewhat mile winter here in SE Wyoming so I have almost 300 miles for the year. Only rode once below 25 degrees. The wind is a bigger factor here than the temperature. I can gut out 10-12 mph headwind on the promise of tailwind coming home, but higher than that is just not pleasant.

Mine is different for the seat & bars, so the outdoor extended rides are breaking in somewhat. Not nearly as if I didn't ride all winter & hoped on the bicycle after being idle all season to do a century. That would take a lot longer to "break" in.

I'd have to check, I think I have only been a handful of says. Def not a week+. I'd have probably gone innormal!

I don't think there is a location out there where a person can't ride a bike....and if there is such a location that makes it impossible to ride it's most likely because of the infrastructure and not because of the weather.

Being from the Midwest - could not believe how much faster the mountain air drys you out .......

I took my mountain bike out a few times but no more than 2 miles each way. Also added fenders to it this year which was a big help. I cringe at the salt it’s now covered in. Need to give it a good wash.
