I am 180 miles shy of 3000. I should hit that by Nov 6. I am shooting for 3500 for year end. East to west across Dallas on a flat bar road bike with 32C tires, a rear rack and panniers(sometimes).

I'm at ~3600 miles now. I should crack 4k by Christmas, (the office is closed for the last week of the year), but I'd like to hit 4500. It all depends on how nasty the weather gets. When it is too harsh out there, I take the train part of the way and it cuts my miles in half, (while adding 40 minutes ).

The first half of the year, I was on Rocinante, ('83 Austro-Diamler mixte), but my fathers' day gift was Doņa Molinera, ('08 Fuji Touring).

I'm at about 1600 miles total. I didn't own a bike until April, and don't commute the whole distance every day.

Wow, If I commuted the full distance every weekday, and rode the other few errands that I do, it would be over 9000 miles per year. Yikes! I don't think I can do that yet.

My two bikes are here:

2900 miles so far. I am going all-year, so I got an early start. It's all flat though. Completely, utterly, old-railbed flat.

1701 commuting miles in 162 days in 2008 (10.5 miles round trip) out of 7000 total miles. Probably 35 more commuting days in 2008 with another 368 commuting miles.

Riding either a 23 year old Raleigh Team USA Sport Tour or 14 year old Raleigh M-60 rigid mountain bike.

I'm at 15514, mileage on Jan 1 was 12541, so I'm almost exactly to 3000 miles.

It's interesting that I'm the 4th person in this thread to be almost exactly at 3000 miles.

I don't really track it but I am pretty sure I am right around 3k also. Avg in the ballpark of 300/month anyway.

As of this mornings ride to work, I am at 3686. I should end up just shy of 5000 for the year.

Maybe much less than that, probably don't spend time online obsessing about it, much more than that, too busy riding to goof off online about it.

I'm just one or two commuting days shy of 1000 miles for 2008. Thing is, I've been waking up late for the past two weeks and haven't commuted once during them. Gotta fix that and hit 1k before the weather really starts giving me an excuse not to try.

Used to be close to 3000 a few years ago, but as I work more from home now it's about 2000 tops.

4 miles so far, but I'm hoping to get into a regular routine. Due to limitations of roads and geography, my commute is 10.5 miles by car or 88.5 miles by bike (each way). So I am hoping to commute 3 miles by bike to a ferry. It's much nicer than the subway.

3,200 miles from my 23 mile r/t commute, roughly 75% of my workdays.
Traveling on business most of next week, so my October is effectively done.
Traveling the last week of December too, so will probably end up around 3,800 just from commuting.

Miles? Why use miles when you can use kilometers! Not only does it make you feel like you are going further, your speedometer lets you feel like you are going faster! I logged just under 5000 km (3100 miles) in my first year of commuting (Sep '07-Aug '08). Hopefully, I can bump it up a little bit to around 6000 km this year. About 2/3 of that was on my Breezer Uptown 8 and the other third was on my old Specialized Epic Pro carbon.

All miles on my Surly Cross-Check, both commuting and distance recreation rides, so I don't know what just my commuting mileage is.
My total mileage is just over 3400 as of yesterday, but that includes a few metrics, a bunch of centuries, a couple double metrics and a double century.

My total miles for the year will tip over 6600 this weekend. Subtract out about 1,000 for brevet/pay/social rides leaves around 5600 miles for commuting. I'm pretty happy with it considering the sprained ankle in march and broken wheels I recently had which totally discouraged me for a couple weeks. I was hoping to get 8k but might fall short if I don't pick it up.
Bah.. and ZERO weight change since March when I got the below!!! boooooooooo!

No I don't usually commute with the flag and I have since cleaned up that wiring mess up front. I get to meet the owner of Bacchetta on Saturday had to make the bike look all nice

Some impressive miles guys!

Im hoping to hit 10,000 miles next year... yeah right

It seems like 3000 miles a year is the avg for bike commuters, thats a whole lot of miles on a bicycle.
