[SOLVED] How to remove this rear wheel?

Hi.

A friend gave me a used Dahon folding bike. Now I'm trying to remove the rear wheel but have no clue how to do it. The front wheel is attached with 15mm nuts, so I assume it's the same for the rear, except it has these grey covers. I tried to pull them out but they're stuck. Do I need a special tool to remove those covers and access the nuts?

Thanks in advance!

I thought maybe it was some kind of theft prevention, but it appears from this video that they are indeed just covers. The vid doesn't go into detail of getting them off. However this guy just seems to pull.

Thank you so much! I feel stupid. I pulled them again, and after a bit of struggle they both came off.
