I like the "Poseur" jerseys. Cuz I am one, see. Not willing to part with 105 bucks to advertise it, though.

I have managed to spin off many miles over the course of my 50+ years on this earth and have managed to do it without making myself a rolling billboard or otherwise emulating a NASCAR racer. I don't have any tattoos either.

The things you see on large, charity rides. Who associates Spaghetti-Os with bulging biceps?

How about just sticking a vintage Silca frame pump through their front wheel spokes?

"Not a rolling billboard" would look good on a jersey.

Definitely something less murdery, and maybe a reference to a better movie.

Well, whether Breaking Away is, or is not, a great movie is strictly a matter of opinion. I happen to think it is one of the best, if not the best, cyclimg movies. Lots of people out there would join me in that assessment.

As for the less murdery suggestion, even you would have to agree that a Silca pump through the front spokes is less murdery than dousing someone in lighter fluid and watching them burn to a crisp (as the author of the article suggested). Unless, of course you are concerned with the murder of a fine piece of Italian craft such as a Silca pump.

I think, although I may be wrong, that all of those comments and suggestion, were made with tongue firmly placed in cheek.

Again, what would you suggest.

I would join you if it were a cycling film. It's a coming of age story that happens to include cycling.

Using a cheaper pump?

Yes, I found the lighter fluid joke disgusting and don't really care whether their tongue was in cheek.

I knew you were joking, the reference was pretty funny and about bikes, and I was just playing along with your pump suggestion to make fun of a movie I happen to dislike, which I know is a pretty unpopular opinion around these-here parts.

Difference between movie and real life, BTW, is that if you did actually put something in the spokes of someone riding at racing speed, that actually would be pretty murdery. I also suspect that it can't really be done, at least not without substantial risk to the assailant.

I also find the word "murdery" funny, and was glad to have an excuse to use it.

I agree with this assessment. I'll go further. It's a charming and heartwarming story about family and individual identity, finding your way, loyalty and kinship. It also shows the quirky love that can be found within intact families, a lesson lost on today's mixed up world. Finally, it has some bicycling in it, too.

Charming movie.
