Brooks saddle surprise

I received my new Brooks Imperial and installed it on 11/23/20. Before mounting it I applied Proofide to the underside per Brooks instructions. Today I took the saddle off to change seatposts. I was surprised to see what appears as spider web cracks all over the underside. I assume this must be normal because I haven’t gotten it wet or reapplied any leather treatment. Is this normal? Thanks!

Upon closer inspection, they aren’t actually cracks, they’re more like stress marks. Cannot feel them at all. I don’t know why the marks formed, I weigh 170 pounds so not from extreme weight.

I have those on the top of my NOS Professional Select. Makes no difference in performance or comfort, and means nothing to me as the saddle is simply perfect. Put it on the bike and ride the thing.

Put it back on the bike. You can't see that side from there.

Had that on mine, but it didn't negatively impact anything. The only thing which was a surprise is the tensioner bolt failing (well, could still tension it but it required also a set of pliers) on two of mine in short order.
