Westchester / NYC Cyclocross?
Hi,
I bought a cross bike and was looking for places to ride to get some practice. Anywhere near the city or Westchester would be great.
I'm not necessary looking for any races but areas with proper terrain and settings to ride.
Thanks.

Cyclocross courses are highly fungible. Any park with a grass, some trees, a little sand, and some slopes for off-camber riding will be useful. You can use your imagination about creating barriers. For example, I ride an unofficial course around some nearby sports fields. There's a long jump pit that provides sand and the way it's landscaped provides some good off-camber surfaces. There are some portable benches that we can tip over for barriers (we put everything back when we're done). Have fun!

There was cyclocross practice at Randall's Island, easily accessible from Manhattan. See this link: https://www.nycvelo.com/wed-night-cro...ndalls-island/
