Should I adjust my Helicomatic Freewheel?

Helicomatic freewheels & hubs work just fine until they don't. Then it's time for new wheels & a whole new drivetrain.

Another bad trait I remember about the Helicomatic I had on my Peugeots was the big offset of the drive side flange of the hub, away from the drive side dropout to accommodate the width of the helicomatic cassette and lock ring, which results in a very steep angle on the spokes on that side of the wheel. Resulting in a big difference in tension between the two sides of the wheel (Much higher tension on the drive side than the non-drive side).

Currently wrapping up a rebuild of an '85 Peugeot P8 and having similar dilemmas. Will be used for tooling around town so likely not looking to replace the hub yet, but the freewheel bearing seem loose (getting lateral play). jonwvara if you still have that Helicomatic freewheel I'd be up for covering the shipping charges.
