if i have not retired yet, & over 65, & had health issues.... i'd take up spending money as my new hobby ditching the bikes.

There is a lot of "that other kind of cycling is not really cycling" undercurrent here

1 billion is generational wealth.
1 billion is community changing.

Yeah, I would stop riding a bike for 1 billion dollars. I could focus on creating impactful community youth programs for most of the day and take up swimming & diving as exercise.

Nope. I can't run, play basketball etc with my bum ankle, but I can cycle. Eliminate cycling and I'm basically done.

By "biking," you mean motorcycles, right?

I mean cycling. Pedaling and propelling oneself. Without pedaling, you don't go. Ebikes and stationary would also fall in the category. No creative loopholes. You can do any other activities.

That's a lot of money!

My honest answer is that I would give up cycling for a billion dollars. Afterward I think that I would second guess and regret the decision because the foolish things that I was doing with the money didn't make me any happier than I was previously.

It's good that I don't have to make that choice.

But you could always hire someone pedal the bike and to pull you around in a trailer.

"Hey Lance, you can use that EPO stuff for this gig."

Yeah, my first thought was, no, because it would be a personal sacrifice and we don’t need it.

But, there comes a point where it’s enough to justify that sacrifice because of the opportunity to do something that really makes a long term difference. I’d be helping the Nature Conservancy protect existing lands from destruction.

I think with a billion $ I could build a nice swimming pool.

Although even thinking about it makes me think about how to cheat.

ok that answer was a lot easier than I thought. how about this would you up give warm/showers for same amount of money. In other words if you want to shower, bathe, clean yourself you can only use water 50 degrees or less for the rest of your life. no loopholes.
