Komoot and my new Wahoo Bolt (and Strava)

I've found quite a lot of great routes on Strava through people I follow there. So what I like todo is download those routes (or save them into my Strava account) and then use them on my Wahoo Bolt (they show up on my Wahoo app which I can then sync them). That seems to work ok, I think for the most part. Now, I'm trying to create my own route in my local country map system website (mapy.cz here in the Czech Republic) and then export that .gpx file to my computer. I then upload that .gpx file to my Komoot account. Then when I open my Wahoo app that route won't show up there in the list. Although it does show the Strava routes that I saved from other users. Any reason it's not showing the Komoot routes (which I can see in the Komoot app and the Komoot website but won't show up within the Wahoo app). Btw, I'm using the free version of Komoot. Is this why? It's so confusing trying todo all this, not an easy system unless I'm doing something very wrong here.

I don't use Komoot so my answer may not be correct but if they follow the other websites that may be a paid feature. You can try this as a workaround, I had to do this a few times when RWGPS was down for maintenance and I had to use Endomondo to create my routes. If Komoot can export a .fit file, use that rather than a .gpx format. Download it to your PC and email to yourself as an attachment. In your phone, select the download and it should automatically be opened by the Elemnt app.

Since you have a Bolt, you may want to try the free version of RideWithGPS rather than Komoot for route building. Downloading a route to the Bolt is pretty much automatic and you don't have to use your PC or the companion app. They will download directly into the Bolt when the Bolt is connected to your WiFi and turned on.

We have this exact setup. I assume you've "connected" komoot and your wahoo? if so, then go to the "maps" page on your wahoo and press the "sync" button. YOu'll need to be on wifi or connected to your phone for the sych to work, it takes a minute or so and then the route will show up on the list of your wahoo. There's a limit to the number of routes which show up so I generally call up the route in komoot, then exit and hit sync on the wahoo. Works very reliably! Glad to answer any questions.
