Philly Bike Share good for commuting?
I see Philadelphia is considering bike share…
https://bikesharephillymap.info/
I was curious if bike share could be a reliable form of transportation for commuting or if it is more just for recreation?
Right now they definitely need more locations requested, or it might be hard to find I am guessing.

In the right lane
We have a bike sharing program in our community. The usual intention is to satisfy a number of customers:
1)people who work in an area and want to talk a ride for lunch.
2) people who have a direct route from one station to another. For example, their grocery store or pub is close by a share station.
3) transit riders use it for the "last mile" home
4) travelers use it to visit different spots in a city.
I rather doubt bike share would be useful for commuting. One problem is that occasionally all the bikes will be out. So unless you are willing to walk or make some other arrangement.... Although, given the right circumstance, it might work out.
