If you mean the CAAD8, I think a lot depends on what I find for deals. Originally, it was a R1000 with Ultegra. I already have a 1986 KHS Fiero that I updated with mostly 5600 series 105. And a 98 R200 CAD2 that might go Sora... So I absolutely HAVE to improve on that...

Edit: The seller finally got back to me, the frame was given to him years ago by a friend that was a bike shop manager. This was a complete bike that was stripped down for a carbon bike build. It was never sold or ridden as a complete bike. So there is no hidden stress in that carbon fork. All but a virgin frame, albeit, 13 years old...

As is with no cleaning

Another gem from a dark place in my favorite LBS. almost giving it away, had to insist he took a couple bucks. This beaut will go on my black Schwinn Voyageur 11.8 along with: hoods the same colour or bar tape the same.

I’ve wanted a pink- black bike for awhile now. Already got the “ are you crazy” question!

Wonderful find!

Please make a usage report after you have had the opportunity to give it some exercise.

These were imported by Zeus Cyclery Corp. of NYC back in the 1980's -

I sure will! It says these come in several attractive colours. Never have seen a pink one. Now having to decide between pink hoods, black tape or black hoods pink tape...

Two made in Japan Shoguns today, both full Deore XT components. One with Tange Prestige frame. Ended up paying the seller more, as the condition was better than expected.

Kind of odd model names, Prairie Breaker and Ground Breaker. The blue one should fit my wife.

Got this off Facebook yesterday for $10. Horrible picture showing a bike with 25 years of dust in it, 2 combo locks around the stem, and 2 flat tires... and what looked like a deore rear derailer. I wasn’t hoping for much but for $10 I had to go look. Got there and it was a diamondback apex, full double butted true temper, and full Deore DX group. Cleaned it up a little after work today and realized that it’s basically a brand new bike. The front rim didn’t have any marks from the brakes, and there is no wear in the chain or cassette. May be a little small, but that may work for a drop bar conversion.

Where are you finding these? I bought my 310 thirty-five years ago in California. After I moved back to Ohio, it's rare for me to even see another Miyata, let alone one available for sale.

After years of avoiding vintage MTBs, I am seeking them out. This 1986 Rockhopper is not rideable, but I bought it for parts. Shimano thumb shifters, Deerhead derailleurs, Specialized touring crank, and Specialized dirt drop stem. If you can look beyond flat tires and scrapes and scratches, you can find nice parts. My radar starts with thumb shifters. If I see old school thumbies, I'm interested!! This one has basic pedals, but often there will be valuable pedals on these old MTBs too. And they make great recreational/commuter/college bikes.

This is a bit of orthogonal thinking here as its saved parts vs saved bike. Recently, upon arrival at my LBS for work, I found a discarded front fender in the trash barrel out back. As I was not sure what it could become, I put in the car. At home I found that the fender stay loop (stiff stainless steel loop with bolt loops at the ends and an attachment loop in the middle) nicely fit between the mid fork bolt points on my 1987 Schwinn Voyageur and the underside of my handlebar bag. I've been looking for a way to safely load that bag with more stuff. I fabricated an interface to the bag's wire support so weight in the bag is help by both the wire support and the fork mid points - transfer that weight to lower on the frame. We'll see how it all works on a rough trail. With a couple of other fabricated interfaces, the fender has been tucked in under the rear rack to mitigate some of the muck tossed up by the rear tire. Literally, saved from the dump. Getting ready for my first rail trail camping tour.

This late nineties Rocky Mountain Cardiac was given to a friend, rather than toss it at the dump (just an educated guess). My friend, who collects much older roadsters and antiques, gave the bike to me (he did not want any money, from me, for the bike) and I will give a donation to B4H (my friend is a volunteer). PS - long have I longed for a Rocky Mountain...

When I was at my friend's house, this morning, doing an inventory of his bikes, that he has decided to find new homes for, I noticed the Rocky Mountain. Anyway.,,

He has quite a few that he wants to let go, to make room for more, and some are pretty nice. He and three other suppliers of vintage bicycles, in the Thunder Bay area, will contribute to a bulk sale of bikes (100 or more in a single sale). These are some of the bikes that will be included in the bulk sale. Wish I had room for that old Hiawatha hanging from the rafters. Some other pretty decent old roadsters in there, also, not to mention an antique or two and some lesser ten speeds and even a Raleigh Twenty folder, in great shape will head out the door...

Threat of rain shut down a bunch of sales at a local citywide event. I drove through early on my way to do some yard work nearby and got ran off...lousy earlybird, lol. Drove back through on my way home and was surprised to see bikes still in a yard.
Got the final discount price.

I found the 88 last spring/summer at a "Thrift" store. I found the 86 listed in the major classifieds in my area just last month, and the 91 was found in the same classifieds just last week. Paid more for the first one than the other two together

I try and salvage everything donated to our charity bike shop. Not all can be saved but we run a high percentage. All bike salvaged are donated via one of the charities we work for. If you can't fix it.....send it to me and we'll do our magic. Thanks

My catch of the day was a mid-to-late 80s Nashbar Toure XC. Made in Japan with Tange #2 and loaded with 18spd Suntour XC components and 700c wheels. Cost was $50 as-is.
