Series PDG Paramount Serial Number
Greetings All,
I have a Red Series PDG Paramount frame that I am trying to pin down. I have looked on Waterfords website for deciphering the serial number, but because this is a Tange steel OS frame, I know it was likely built in Japan. The serial number is 2A01524. I am hoping to determine frame size and year of this Paramount.
I have recently began collecting these old frames, and am hoping to land on a complete P14 track bike one day, but for now this is what I have.
Frame measures: 54cm C-T Seat Tube and 55cm C-C Top Tube

Replying to my own post, I also came across this page on the Waterford page regarding Series Paramounts built in Japan. Based on the table on the link "Red Black (DT) Decals" seems to be the only characteristic that fits this frame, making it a '92 Series 2 Paramount. Can anyone confirm, or provide more information?

Try the Asian serial number guide, in the stickies section. I believe I deciphered my 92 Paramount through that database. Mine is Panasonic, serial number 2EO1950
And the unicrown fork rules out the possibility of it being Waterford. I just read, in another thread, that the series 5 and 7 came from Japan, and the series 2 and 3, from Taiwan.

+1. Manufactured by M-a-t-s-u-s-h-i-t-a (Panasonic) of Japan in January 1992. When I started compiling the Asian Serial Number Guide there wasn't a lot of interest in 1990s models by the members and consequently not much data. Brifters and dual pivot brakes were dirty words o most members. You'll find that most manufacturers retained their serial number formats into the 1990s.
