From Kandango Unpaved in Volland KS. I didn't get any pics of the more challenging sections- there were roads that were heavily rutted and covered in large rocks, not gravel. I almost got off and walked down one of them, it was mountain bike territory. I had to walk up part of one hill, it was just rocks and mud and I was losing traction and didn't want to fall over and break something.

Was headed for the beach. It was fogged in. Decided to head up this trail instead. Did surprisingly well for having road tires fitted!

Excuse me Gorillimo, but you cannot ride a 30 year old mountain bike with triple crank and townie bars in the gravel. This is against of the law. (some law in Minnesota)
All gravel bikes must be drop bars and single crank.

Fire tower on top of Grassy Mountain, AKA "The Top" as in, "Did you climb all the way to the top?"
Grassy Mountain, Cohutta Mountains, Georgia
.

"The Switchback" at the top of Mill Creek Rd, Cohutta Mountains, GA.

Georgia is heavily forested and none of the peaks are above treeline. Vistas are not as common as other places except for where the forest has been cleared. This one peeked through the trees.

I walked over it. Wasn’t going to risk it on 1.5” street tires....

Figured I’d test Grant Peterson’s (Rivendell) “hill bike” theory....

Yes, Rat Trap Pass ELs.

(And from the location of the photo, I could have ridden to the tires' namesake in only about 40 miles. )

The trapped door is locked. The custom is to climb the stairs anyway, just so you say you went all the way.

This is the actual climb. https://ridewithgps.com/routes/28822932

Not sure. Deore’s. Been fine. Gonna change tires to something more trail appropriate. Thinking Schwalbe Marathon. Don’t want to ruin the do anything part of the bike.

Seems that this time of year most of my riding is at night. At least we had a full moon this week!

Uh oh, sun is going down...

We need lights this time of year

At least the moon rise was beautiful

That group night right looks like a blast.

All but one of my friends think the world will end if they ride with lights at night.

Love night riding, especially after a winters day stuck behind a desk ... in the right area it's so peaceful and therapeutic
