Seen near the end of a Buffalo-to-Albany camping tour of the Erie Canal--near the town of Amsterdam, I think.

These little dudes travel in packs of around 15 or so. They're really fast walkers, so it's hard to count, lol. 🙄😁 I'm not familiar, but I think they're quails or partridges. 🤔

Gambel's Quail. Families of them, down to peep size, hang around my neighborhood every day. Unbelievably fleet afoot!

I posted these before but wanted to share again...These were all taken at the "Commune by the Great Wall".
One of the most inspiring collections of houses that I have seen all in one place...and the background is not bad either.
A tough climb even with an electric.
Enjoy, Ben

Had to ride (climb) past (over) this to get down town today. It's a very active bike path. I wonder if it will be gone by the time I return.

My friend Paul's homemade recumbent--he rode it the length of the Erie Canal with two other friends and me earlier this month.

Crappy picture, but it was Corvette autocross at the community college parking lot today. Never seen it there before. Typically you see motorcycle school.

On Friday, I took Citi Bike to the ferry terminal to have dinner with my in-laws. They are in Hoboken, NJ, just across the Hudson River. We had just had a storm, and it was sunset time, so the views were extra-spectacular. I love the Hudson River.

Walkill valley rail trail, near Rosendale NY, just north of the big bridge.
Not much to see in the cave, but the cold air coming out of it was very interesting. It was about 85F (30C) outside, and we could feel the temperature drop as we passed the cave. In the cave, the air was probably about 60f (15c). Mist was visible coming out of the cave, and my glasses fogged up after we left because they had cooled so much.
Further up the trail, there were caves like this on both sides, with wind blowing just right to drop the temperature on the whole trail for about 10 seconds of riding.
Hopefully it was not the spirits of the dead or something..

I used to get that cool air effect riding in Europe. You'd be cycling along and reach a stand of trees covering a hillside and feel the cool air pouring out across the road. Never felt that in the States.

I get it pretty regularly here in the northern Rockies, you can get 15* temp swings in the fall as you ride on roads that cut across the side of the hill and you cross gullies that run vertically up the mountain.

@Bholio, there is a bit of road on Rt 213, just off the rail trail, where there is ice cold air coming out of a cave. It blows out 365 days a year. On hot days, it's just as cold. My wife and I love riding past it on the 90º days. A neighbor who lives in Rosendale says he will show me the ice caves. They are a few miles away. He says there is ice in them 12 months a year.

I was line-up official at auto-x for years, long ago; single marque events are frustrating. "OK, you line up behind the Corvette, which will be behind the Corvette, which will be behind...".

I'm not sure if you guys can see them, but there are 2 bees having sex on my bike here!!! 😲🤭😁 I happen to have some black seedless grapes in that bag, so we know what they were after, initially. I'm blaming the female bee. 😁

Saw this about 1/2 way between Sublimity and Salem Oregon. Driver was trotting the horses around his pasture, but stopped & held them a minute when he saw me get out my camera. Gave me a wave & took off when I was done. Don
