A minor correction: Al Capp wrote Li'l Abner. Joe Btfsplk was the Li'l Abner character who was jinxed and had the black cloud. The Pogo comic strip was Walt Kelly's creation.

A bald guy in bibs and no jersey, tufts of backhair everywhere, wearing chuck Taylor's and riding a brand new Trek Madone.
On Animal front, huge deer, full rack, 8 points at least, in full stride leaping over a fence, unaware that other side of fence was steep embankment down to the road we were on, clears fence and 10 foot embankment in one leap, slams shoulder first into road literally feet in front of the lead rider in our group. We stopped just in the nick to miss being crushed, deer got up and trotted off into the field on other side of the road. He actually seemed embarrassed.

A turtle.
Not that turtles don't show up in some places in the world but I live almost in the permafrost latitudes. There are no turtles here.

My rides are boring compared to some of these stories. One of the more interesting threads I've read in a while ... keep em coming.
The best I can add is when someone leaned out of a car passenger window and tried to push me into a ditch. They pushed, but my "fred" mirror gave me 2 extra seconds to brace for it and prevent crashing. But this is more maddening than bizarre. Probably the most bizarre thing was one cyclist who wouldn't stop trying to draft off me, despite s-turns and telling him to back off ... very very bizarre - stalkish scary.

We were on a mountain bike ride going up a fairly steep heavily wooded trail in a local park, when we came upon a high lake among the forest. There were two naked men by the lake side, umm, well, enjoying each other's company, at least until they saw us. Guess they thought they found the perfect secluded spot. Not quite. That weirded both of us out a bit.

Love this, I'm a dog fanatic. I was just mentioning to my wife that I'd love to get one of those kiddie pull carriers and put all 3 of my little dogs in for my rides. They are maybe 35lbs combined, they are attached to me at the hip and would love to spend this time with me.

Once while on a very technical slickrock trail in Moab, a couple friends and I came upon a 65+ year old guy on an ancient Schwinn Varsity. He was wearing paid golf pants and a Fred Perry shirt. Way out on a seriously hairy trail. Wtf?

Been a long time but Gus the beer drinking camel is still probably the top of my list.
He like water sprayed from our bottles too but when somebody pulled up in a pick up truck Gus knew what was up.

Oh, that reminds me. A while back, I'm riding down the street, see a white van pulled off to the left, about the time I'm riding by, three or four guys in SWAT gear go trotting up to the porch, I hear a muffled ID call, the door is busted open, and a loud BOOM, which I assume was a stun grenade. All of that in less time than it took to type it. Had I known it was happening, I would have detoured a block over. Didn't seem to be any firefight or anything like that, so maybe nobody was even home.

I got shot by an Airsoft gun on the MUP yesterday, then today in the same spot there was a huge palm frond laid nicely across the entire width of the trail that I had to off-road to avoid. I swear if I see those little punks again..
What would you guys do in this situation?

Once, while riding by an outdoor cafe, I saw Rosie O'Donnell say "no" to more chicken wings.
To be honest, I didn't read the posts before this one and I won't read the ones after, cuz no one's gonna convince me that whatever bullcrap they saw is gonna top that.

Not much, a horse in a pickup truck with a woman riding it passing at 50k/h. (crazy dangerous stuff)
A duck family, the mom with around 7-8 miniducks behind crossing the road. We had to stop while they cross like 1 meter in front of us in a perfect line.

A house almost completed burned. Three days before when I rode by it it was the picture of suburban tranquility. earlier this year about nine or ten deer jumped up and swarmed across the trail around me while mountain biking. Freaked me out so much that I forgot I was clipped in and tipped over. Today I saw a bull mounting a cow.

A couple of years ago, I was blasting along the trail when an elderly couple out for a walk stepped in front of me and motioned for me to stop. Just in time, too, because someone... probably young punks... had strung monofilament fishing line back and forth across the trail about chest high. I would have been caught in it and would have probably gone down. Thank goodness the elderly couple was there. We spent about 15 minutes removing all of the line.
Animals: At different times, I've seen a Florida panther sitting on the trail, just looking around; a black bear crossing the path; deer; alligators; rattlesnakes; and raccoons.
