Indeed - my second "proper" road bike was a PKN-10 - served me well through high school, college and grad school, finally succumbing one day during a commute - I was powering along, when the chain jammed somewhere and next thing I knew, the RD and hanger were pulled up and out. I didn't have the money to get it fixed, so it went into the shed and slowly rusted away.

I'd bet Lance is probably a pretty cool guy now that he's got the burden of being an ******* well behind him. His cameo in "Pharmacy Road" (or "Tour de Pharmacy") was hilarious.

oh I thought he was gonna change the tube in 1.5 minutes. clearly it takes longer than that. I count myself lucky when I can do it in 15 minutes on the side of a road

I can't do one in a minute and a half, but I've had *way* too much experience changing tubes and fixing flats. Two minutes for me, at best.

The actual tire bead removal and tube change from start to finish probably takes me under 2 minutes. It's the 5-10 minutes I spend pulling the tire off the rim entirely and inspecting for whatever tiny bit of wire or glass caused my flat in the first place that takes up most of my time. Been burned by too many nearly invisible metal slivers that lead to almost immediate 2nd flats to not take the time.
