2008 Hardrock pro disc / 2008 Rockhopper base
i did a test ride of the 07 rockhopper and it performed very nice. While i was talking to my local LBS owner, he mentioned that the 08 Hardrock pro discs now go for 620$ and it now has a diffrent fork (very simillar to the rockshox dart3). It also has a Avid BB5s instead of the Hayes Sole hydrolic discs.
the 08 rockhopper comes with the m4 frame and everything else hasnt been drastically changed. Although the 08 rockhopper base is now 550$ instead of 520$.
problem i am having is, go for the M4 lighter frame (rockhopper) or the A1 with discs
thanks for the suggestions

I wouldn't get a 2008 anything (at least for a good while) for two reasons:
1 - It's still July, so you're probably going to have to wait a while to get your hands on it. (at least 2-3 months)
2 - When the 2008's do come out, the 2007's are going to drop in price, making them the better deal.

if your more of a jumper get the hard rock .. if your more xc oriented get the rockhopper.. the junk bolted on them doesn't matter if you don't have the right bike to begin with.

my lbs has the 08 rockhopper on display. it's spec'd the same as the 07 with the m4 frame. the specs kind of suck for the price. alivio on a $550 bike?
