Distance Cycling "Clubs" in Texas?

Well, it's official-
I'm moving to Houston for a new job. Looking forward to meeting cyclists in the area; and hoping to find a group that's into distance events.

I'm hoping to participate in Hell Week next year - anyone with experience with that? And now it looks like HOS will be my RAAM qualifier if I can get in shape enough. Who has done it?

I guess I'll post to the Texas forum too -
but if there's anyone HERE who has info on distance cycling in Texas, I'd sure appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks y'all!!!
(Just practicing!)

Talk to Dan Driscoll of Lone Star Randonneurs, they are involved with long-distance racing also.

Houston: https://www.houstonrandonneurs.org/
Dallas area: https://lonestarrandon.tripod.com/
Austin: https://www.hillcountryrandonneurs.com/
South Texas: https://www.texsunrandonneurs.com/Home.html

All of these are good groups for randonneuring and all welcome new members. The members are some of the nicest folks you'll find. Many riders from one club travel to do events at another.

Hell Week is a lot of fun with fantastic riding. It's well worth the trip.

The Houston and Dallas clubs have pretty active message boards on google groups. Follow the links on their web sites and you can read what we've been up to lately.
