Good for the guy to get involved and help out.

Not so sure I would do the same for a stranger. Not to say I wouldn't help someone in need but I'm not sure I want to risk escalating the situation, and possibly getting hurt or killed, over stolen property. However, I would offer the victim a ride home but that's about it.

I loved it!

I had a bicycle stolen on my birthday many years ago. I was just about to start a new job where transit din't go and the bicycle was my only means of transportation to get to the job site. When the bicycle was stolen my job was gone too. I HATE bicycle thieves and would like to see a lot more done to them when/if caught. Heck, here the plice won't even come out to investigate or take a report. You have to phone the station or go in person. Bicycle thefts just are not taken very seriously.

Cheers

Why not? Walmart is like Florida, anything can happen. And if the Walmart happens to be in Florida, well...

I'm very (pleasantly) surprised over the lack of pearl-clutching over this.

Carry on.

Reminds me of my former neighbor who saw kids stealing our bikes our of our garage. He ran over and grabbed one of the kids by the ear and yanked him right off the bike and pinned him to the ground. The other buggers came back and started yelling at my neighbor about how he was kidnapping their friend. They stayed there yelling long enough for the police to show up a few minutes later and cuff all four of them.

Of course they don't. But they should...

It would cure recidivism.
