Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I bought a pair of black SKS 35mm fenders last week. They're mounted on the bike now and life is good...

Just put a new Windsor Knight on order last night!!! This will be my first dedicated road bike - can't wait for it to come in. I almost went for a lower end Sora/Tiagra bike for the same price from my LBS, but Ultegra 6700 shifters and derailleurs was just too good to pass up. Not sure about the build quality, but if it sucks then I'll just buy a new frame and swap parts over.

pedals and saddle look ultra ****ty, so those will be replaced immediately. Other than that, just going to assemble the bike and take it down to my LBS and have it gone over/wheels trued/derailleurs adjusted, etc. PUMPED!

Careful with that thing. It's easy to grab the wrong size and strip a nipple.

Hehe, strip a nipple.

It's not all quite in yet, but close enough:

Rival Shifters
Rival Read Der
Red Cassette (11-26)
Rival Crankset (standard)
Look Keo Max 2 (white)
Specialized Toupe Team saddle
Specialized Pro Road (white)
SRAM Hoods (white)

I'm makin' the leap and stylin' the old Trek up. Couldn't pass up that Red cassette, it's a thing of beauty.

Re-spray of the clear coat on a Caad 9 frame. Not a perfect job - a couple of ripples and a drip behind the seat post, but damn good for HK$600 (about US$85).

All shiny again!

After building my Litespeed classic from the frame up this winter...

Just ordered a smartwool short sleeved jersey. And an old 7 speed shifter (new-old-stock!) for my aging but much loved Trek 470 for $10 on ebay. Now for some tires...
