Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Long story short my wife says I'm in the midst of a midlife crisis. I started running last year and dropped about 60# and toward the end of the summer got the idea to do a triathlon, loved but did it on my old man hybrid bike. So I did another and had fun with that. so it's time to get a new bike to ride/race next year. I looked, researched, and rode a bunch of bikes and finally pulled the trigger on a 2010 Cannondale Supersix 3. Liked it better than the 2011 (which lists for less) due to the better wheels and such. Have had it for a month now and have riding with a group to stay in shape. Snyapse and Madone were in the hunt but am pleased with the choice. It's a great bike and capitalized on the end of season model change pricing.

Are you sure that it was taken from a complete Super Light bike? The team geometry was only available on framesets. There was no difference in the frame used for the Super Light vs. the other s-works bikes and frames.

Edit: Or alternately, are you sure that it's team geometry?

I know for a fact that the early 2010 super light sworks builds came with the team geo. I almost bought one a few months ago. They were trying to unload it for way, way less then 9k. It was a 58 and I measured the HT myself.

Currently have a bone stock Trek 1.2 (except for the saddle, needed to upgrade that)

looking forward to put some miles on it, I can only use the indoor trainer for now though. I will try and get a picture up later with wheels installed, currently in the midst of going to a friends house for the weekend and I need to ride it.

Okay this is my third-in-line road bike and will see some serious mileage this winter. The highway authorities grit/salt the roads over here and despite my fastidious cleaning regime, I went through a front and rear derailleur on my Cadex last winter - the salt just kills 'em! Twice bitten, three times shy...

I know it's not a road bike in the true sense.

That's definitely a road bike. I wouldn't take it off road.

Run in with an Oldsmobile destroyed my Slice Si fork, so I'm back on the stock Premium fork. Ditched the Reynolds Solitudes for the C24s, and traded the Toupe for a Romin SL.

As some of you know my Tsunami was stolen yesterday morning. Sucks. Well, I spent the morning rebuilding my old bike. New cranks, bottom bracket, chain, bar tape, seatpost, pedals, and Garmin. Back in business.

Your Tsunami was stolen?! That was easily one of the best looking (in my opinion) bikes on the forum.

How/what happened?

Yeah it's gone. I stopped by a market on the way back from a ride to get some food. I was back in less than 5 minutes. The thief was there in 2. They have video of the thief. He even took my nasty sweaty helmet. So i bought one of these: (not my pic but same helmet and color). Lesson learned on leaving a bike outside even for only a few minutes. I am now in the market for a good race frame. Skeletor is calling my name again. Might go with another Tsunami. Who knows.

I spoke the guys over at Spooky a couple of weeks ago, and they have a couple of 2010 frames left that they are selling at a great price. Comes with headset and an Edge 2.0 fork.

You should definitely give them a call.

Tarmac is sweet.

Thirdgen's bikes are also sweet, esp. the Tommasini. My race/fast ride rig is alot like your scattante, but I would love a bike like the Tommasini to do longer rides, wet weather rides, and just most of my solo riding on.
