Will this bike and wheels take 32mm tyres?
My wife rides a Bianchi

It has Shimano WH-R500 wheels. We are planning a trip to an area with not so good roads and was wondering whether it would take 32mm tyres? Some pics of the clearance at the brake calipers.

ride, paint, ride
Nope, no way. What are those tires on it now, 23's? You can probably go to 25's but I think that'll be about the max.

Assuming those are the 23s the bike is spec'd with, no. You'd be lucky to jam a 28 in there.

Don't know if 25s would make enough difference to be worth the cost, but if your wife is a relative lightweight, she might be able to get away with those at reduced pressure. My wife weighs about 125, and she runs 700x25s at 80-85.

My WHR-500s came with 23s, I just put some 25 Gatorskins on for longer distance riding and they fit well. 28's would be pretty tight.
I think 32s are too wide for the rims too, but I'm still a noob.

Thanks guys - those are 23s, so I guess I'll try a 28 at least. Her weight is 110 lbs, so lower pressure is possible.
