I always wanted to do this but never got to it. Measure my bike, in case I need to re do the setup.

I am traveling out of the country in 10 days and I will be riding while I'm away, but not on my bike. The challenge would be to get a borrowed or rented bike to fit as close as possible to my own bike.

I took those measurements, which I believe will be enough to copy the my own setup.

Looks to me like you've got everythign covered..

1. I drop a plumb bob from the nose of the saddle then measure the horizontal distance from the plumb bob to the crank spindle.

2. I measure the vertical distance from the saddle and from the handlebar tops to the floor. The difference between the two is what I'm really interested in.

1) This is going to be a borrowed bike, which is around my size (56), I hope.. all I would be able to do it seat height, seat fore/aft, maybe stem height (spacers), handlebar angle, and thats it..

2) thats 4cm.. as shown on the drawing..


I will be bringing my own pedals/shoes..

Yes, he does, and I have it, in case I need to build a new frame. But he doesn't have any measurements with the seat or spacers for the stem.. Those got fine tuned over the past year...
