Help me price this bike
Howdy all.
It is time to scale down the herd so I'm trying to figure out the pricing on this bike. It is a quite unique Nishiki pro I picked in Japan while living there and actually labeled "made by Kawamura" on one of the chain stays, plus a pantographed Kawamura headset. It is made of chromoly 0.8 0.5 0.8 tubing and if that wasn't nice enough it is a chrome bike. The groupset is a mix; mostly Shimano Arabesque, Dia Compe G brakes, Sugino Mighty crank, early Dura Ace hubs on french rims, Selle Italia Canyon ssaddle, and Nitto world champion bars. Without pedals it is a sub 20# bike. Size (center to center) is 40.5cm seat tube, 41.5cm top tube, 32cm seat stays, 8cm stem.
I love the bike, but it is not my size by a long shot. I bought it as an impulse buy because of the gorgeous chrome frame and to this day I have never seen another chrome Nishiki. Heck if it was my size I would keep it as wall art I could use a few times a year
Anybody care to venture a guess?

That looks more like s 54 cm (seat tube) frame to me!

Jesus, I can't believe I wrote that. I jotted notes on a piece of paper and got numbers mixed around. Still, knowing my size and knowing that my daughter's small frame is 49cm in size it should have cued me in...
51.4cm seat tube, 52.7cm top tube, center to center.

One problem with the build is the brake levers and calipers don't match. You have aero levers with older calipers that have the cable opening on the left. So a normal routing doesn't quite work properly. I would simply use non-aero levers and then route the cable normally: left lever over the bar, left of the stem, directly to the caliper; and the right lever over the bar, right of stem, to the rear. Use those aeros for another project. And add a black saddle. This will make the build look a lot more "professional."

I was gonna say, it looks more like a 52ish cm size.....
which is a good thing as it is not considered a really small size, so a larger market for it.
the Chrome finish definitely helps the value, as I think, that alone can easily guarantee an additional 75 to a 100 bucks market value, compared to a painted version of the same or similar model bike, as long as the chrome is in great condition, like it is on this bike. You add that chrome value to the baseline value of the bike in painted finish And you can have a rough idea how much it could sell...

Looks to be Size is 52 high 54 length by my eye ball standard small/medium for when it was made Real nice bike I would sell the seat and pedals seperate for about $30 each on ebay and the bike $175-200 local Great bike but getting more will be a tough sell if it's your size keep and ride it.

The “made by Kawamura” is typical on Nishikis and the Kawamura headset are not rare but are nice!
id sell the pink saddle separately as it has value by itself but not on the bike. Chrome is always good.
$300. Parted out via eBay could be $500+, maybe $600, less fees and headaches.

You could always pay for a premium membership on BF and sell it here. Less of a headache than eBay but you won't get a premium here. I'd value that bike at closer to $400 given the condition and chrome but that can be a hard price to bet on CL (depending on location).
