Sorry it's not restored yet, but just picked up this 1995 GT Pantera, STX group. Should clean up very nice.

I worked in a shop that sold GT back in 1995 (Fishers Cyclery in Salt Lake City, UT) and every one of their mtbs had that "Mavic equipped" chainstay protector applied. Love it!

I see a few on ebay, I think my next project is going to be a 90s mountain bike. Just need to fill my fridge with Sunny D and sort out my Pogs collection first

There's a backdrop?

There's a woman in town with this exact bike, in excellent condition, in just my size. She's lucky my impulse control issues don't extend to swiping her bike.

Okay, I see it now. #2 shows off the bike really well, but #4 has the sun making the pink shine, so I suppose 4.

If you are finding 90s bikes with Claris, the components have likely been replaced. Claris didn’t come out until 2013 and Claris is a road group. Altus is very much a possibility
I don't poke around this sub too much, but just a note that my 1992 StumpJumper FS (purchased in Spring '93) came with Deore DX. Still works like a charm (unless I just jinxed myself ...)

I remember at the time thinking that Deore LX were decidedly inferior.

Deore DX seems bomb proof. I have Deore DX front and rear derailleurs, and shifters from 1993 and they still work great. Plus, they are nice looking.

The first bike was one I built for my ex wife in 1981. I used it for some advertising photos, I changed a few parts after I built it. More photos here, including one of the ad photos: https://goo.gl/photos/gDU1y2W44oyTkDhR6

The red bike was built for Tim Rutledge, he rode it in the 1981 Cyclo-cross USCF Nationals in Pacifica California. This race had this and 2 Ritchey ATB bikes, the very first National with this kind of bike. This bike is very light, 20 pounds if I remember correctly. More photos here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/yXb2bSaVigXyq1Cj7

Here is a story that was in Bicycling! It mentions this bike: https://goo.gl/photos/3VEoy152KiH3dLp9A

Both of these bikes are in my collection. Jim Mer
