Thank you gents for the compliments.

Yeah, I'm not keen on the under chainstay brakes either.

It's currently stopping very well with this combination of brakes.

I had tried this before on a Peugeot MTB that also had the under chainstay rear brake so I knew it would work well.

Plus there's no problem removing the rear wheel with those fat rear calipers.

'Neutering'...
That's funny ..love it!

I ditched the zip ties on the TT and installed these two clamps.

It's working well and I'm good with the look...sure beats zip ties.

This is one comfortable and fun bike.

This is the "as found today" condition. I'm a little heartbroken that someone would let this get to this condition, but pretty excited to find one at all. I'll get it back to nice rideable condition and clean it the best I can. Not sure if I want to go for a total repaint. I would only do that if the decals are available, but I like the original condition. 1987 model with a date of 0777 on the head badge. I'm assuming this is a Chicago built version. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Nice find!
Now that VeloCals is no more, you might be able to find a decal set on eBay. I have a set for the Cimarron that I am keeping for myself, but I can make a high resolution scan in case anyone is interested.
