New 41 kit -- Requests and opinions
Hey everyone. Informally I've jumped in just to help brainstorm ideas for the next bike forums kit group buy. Just thought we could start a new thread to get opinions and see what people want. I've thrown together a fairly inaccurate rough, but there should be more posted by myself and others who want to get involved.
Just let us know what you think of the aesthetics of each post and what you want to see in the designs.
cheers

ok. I'll bite. I wanted the last run but timing was bad. I was just saying to myself I need a black jersey for the conservative look. My company jerseys (pretty cool) are nice but there will not be another run for a few years and I already lots one to paramedics.
The simplicity of this run is quite nice, but I think some more thrashing will be necessary. I would hope that there will be something more than nothing on the back of the jersey.
I believe it was the other thread someone said they wanted ONLY jersey run. I am in that boat too.
In the other thread again someone said blend to black bibs. Also in that boat.
Scotchlite would be uber awesome if possible.
If we do primal again I would have to say a race cut is necessary. I have a primal L and the arms must be for 14 y.o. girls and the abdomen is for 40 y.o. competitive beer drinkers... just sayn'

How about a big 41 on the back?
How about working the yellow swoosh in the BF logo (upper right of screen) into the design? Maybe a swoosh on each shoulder instead of the B and F in the above sample?

how about a 4 on one shoulder and a 1 on the other... maybe a small 41 on back pocket.
I'm kinda feeling the "RC" in BFRC is redundant ?? maybe since you have the 41. Although with just BF might seem short.

If you put sp******ed on it somewhere the publicity from the lawsuit will swell the ranks of the 41 overnight.

OP you should know . . . you've been a year on this forums, you know you're going to get a dozen different opinions and wishes. Narrow it down to two - firm - and let them pick one or the other. Otherwise it'll drive you nuts. I mean, these people are ****in' crazy!

Kit doesn't match
I had some small suggestions, but then decided that BillyD was right. Overall, I like the simple look.
(Oh, and by the way, 40 is spelled forty)

Here is a quick addition. The back was looking fairly simple in comparison. I'll do some more stuff over the weekend, while hopefully using some more advice from here for changes. Thanks for the opinions and keep them coming.
Haha, you're right, fairly expected. I won't please everyone but I'll try and take some of the advice.

I'm not too crazy about the B & F on the shoulders. I think I'd like to see the actual number 41 on there somewhere, but with it already spelled out on the sleeves and the back, that would probably be too much. Looks good so far otherwise.

Nice work, EnsitMike! That design, with the vertical wording down the back, is more classy and sporty than most commercial jerseys, I think. I do believe I'd look good in one of those!

I like the idea...but:
1. Put "41" in a white circle with black font in the back for the old school race number look (a la Assos Six Days jersey)
2. On the left sleeve put "HTFU" and "400 Watts" on the other as a tribute to those classic 41 phrases...though I haven't been on here for quite a while so I'm not sure if there are more current 41 specific phrases that might make more sense.
3. Get rid of the rainbow world champion colors.
I recommend making bib shorts and option as well; I'd get a kit.

^ A 400 Watts reference would be awesome.
I really like the design, however, my personal preference would be to invert the colors or maybe have the base color something besides black.

Dude, you're not going to get anywhere like this. Crowd sourcing the design, especially here, will get you nothing.
- Your kit looks pretty cool, but the black has been overdone. It's boring now. It has nothing to do with the forum colors. Who wants to wear it during summer?
- Not liking the prominent BF...***** Face? Boy Friend? BFF4EVER?
- World Champion stripes...seriously?
Like I said man, we can collab on ideas privately, narrow it down to a handful, then let the people chose out of those.
I would rather go with one of my other iterations over an all black kit...but I want to make new ones.
Disregard the HTFU on the back.

I would never take every opinion. You start to hear echoing opinions though, and those usually help me. I rather like working with people.
Of course, a lot is subjective, but black is never overdone. Forever classic and versatile, and I wear it every day during California summers. Better SPF protection too, haha. It also goes best with standard bibs, and with white is fresh while still looking great with any bike (which was my main motivation).
As for the world champ colors, I was under the impression those were picked to represent the world national colors. I thought it was subtle enough being on the inside, but that's why crowd sourcing is great-- I'll hear the people out and change as necessary.
I have heard several of you asking for color though, so I'll see if I can add accents to this as well as iterations of any other designs I come up with.

World champ stripes are reserved for world champ winners. There are other ways to represent cultural/geographical diversity here.
